Because we will be on the yacht from April 10th onwards clear communications are essential
We find that email is the most effective, but again, as we are onboard a yacht certain things have to be taken into consideration
- If we are in the Marina, we have a Wi-Fi Internet connection. However, as we pay for access “by the minute” it is not on all the time as it is at home.
- If we are cruising we have to use “Internet cafes”, which are available in most places now.
- In emergencies we do have a direct GPRS link through a mobile ‘phone, but this is very expensive.
Experience has taught us that a mixture of TEXT MESSAGING and EMAILS is the most effective.
- Send an EMAIL to our usual address :- yacht_unda@hotmail.com
- Send a TEXT MESSAGE to our mobile ‘phone number (the Greek or UK number is equally effective) saying
“WE HAVE SENT YOU AN EMAIL” (With your name).
- This alerts us that an email has been sent and we can then access our mailbox at the first opportunity (Depending on where we are, you may not get an instant response, so please be patient)
- If there is going to be delay before we can read your email, we will “Text” you back to tell you.
THIS SYSTEM DOES WORK -PLEASE TRY AND USE IT
NOTE UP UNTIL APRIL 9TH WE ARE AT OUR UK ADDRESS WITH NORMAL INTERNET CONNECTION - JUST SEND AN EMAIL, NO TEXT NECESSARY
